Tommy attended Catholic schools and was an altar boy at his local church. He was also a talented athlete, playing both baseball and football. After graduating from high school, he enrolled at NYU on a football scholarship.

However, Tommy’s college career was cut short when he was drafted into the army during World War II. He served in the Pacific Theater, seeing action in some of the most brutal battles of the war.

After the war, Tommy returned to Brooklyn and got married. He worked for a time as a police officer, but he soon realized that his true passion was helping others. He became a firefighter, and he spent the next 30 years saving lives and serving his community.

Tommy Zizzo was also an active member of his community. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Italian-American War Veterans. He was always willing to help out those in need.

On September 11th, 2001, Tommy Zizzo was working on the construction of the World Trade Center. He was one of the many heroes who lost their lives that day.

On September 30, 2006, Tommy was killed by a drunk driver while he was off duty and riding his motorcycle. He was just 45 years old.

The Tommy Zizzo Foundation was established in his memory. The foundation provides financial assistance to veterans and their families, as well as scholarships to children of fallen first responders.
