Child care (sometimes known as day care) is actually the care and supervision of a child (or multiple children) with ages ranging from two weeks old to eighteen years. This care is typically referring to the care provided by caregivers that are not the child’s parents.

These days, there is a rise to the number of children entering child care at an earlier age. Infant care is becoming more and more common.

In the center, there are a number of child care values that can be observed. Several aspects include and involve anti-discrimination, confidentiality, individual rights, choice, dignity, culture and personal beliefs.


When attending daycare, children are allowed to develop social skills early on. These are valuable for their social and emotional development. Learning how to deal with other people allows children to grow and the earlier a child begins to build his or her social kills, the easier it will develop her social skills.


Brain development


Along the way, this also stimulates a child’s brain development. In turn, this leads to better cognitive, behavioral and social skills for the kid later in life.


On the other point of view (and counted as fact), research had shown that child care, even during infancy, does not interfere with this particular bonding. When infants receive positive parenting at home, child care from others does not affect this.

Quality care


Child care quality is the most consistent finding among the many studies linking child care to children’s development. It is also listed as crucial and important.


The needs of a child depend on her age. However, all high-quality care will include certain key ingredients. Among these are sensitive and responsive caregiving, cognitive and language stimulation, and a safe and healthy environment.


Research had also shown that high-quality child care can have long-term benefits for children. These include increased cognitive abilities, improved language development, better relations among peers in the age group.




The development of a child’s brain is shaped with its early experiences and relationstogether with the right caretaker. With the creation of a strong foundation, coupled with secure and loving relationships, including positive experiences, leads to greater health, learning and well-being for the child later on.

The staff on the other hand needs to be professionally qualified, fully immunized, and have undergone police background checks.


The center must have areas for indoor and outdoor play and needs to have a place that is quiet enough for rest or naps. It should be smoke and vape-free atmosphere both from inside and outside.


Other requirements


The center must have a variety of books, safe toys and other equipment that is cleaned regularly and kept in good condition. Allows you to drop in, unannounced, for short periods of time.


It should also have regular but flexible routines with a variety of activities included that are age-appropriate for the children.  It should be able to serve nutritious meals and snacks.
