About the Laka Glacier Trek:
If you are looking for a beautiful short trek near Delhi and Chandigarh but are bored of the Triund or Kheerganga treks, then you need not worry. Here is another trek, most popularly known as the Laka glacier trek difficulty or snowline trek. It’s always tempting to visit the origin of a river. In fact, the Laka glacier is one of the easiest glacier treks. With a small hike of 16 km from Mcleodganj, one reaches the glacier region in a short span of two days.

It’s even more tempting to camp with your loved ones on a glacier surrounded by the high mountains of the Dhauladhar ranges under a clear sky decorated with millions of twinkling stars. It’s hard to camp here in the months of December and January, but if you are coming here in any other month than these, you can easily camp here.

Trekking till Triund will be overcrowded and boring with minimal vegetation around. But when you will cross the Triund top landscape will change drastically. The trails will become thinner, and the valleys will become deeper. The trails of this trek after Triund Top will get a bit challenging, but the landscape will be more satisfying and beautiful. The perfect combination of deep valleys, high mountains, wide glaciers, and tiny houses on the slopes of the Dhauladhar range will make your dream of visiting heaven come true.

Best time to visit:
Although this trek remains open for almost 10 months in a year, the best time for this trek is between the months of November and April. If you are an adventure enthusiast and wish to experience real snowfall, then the months of December and January are idle for you. But if you are looking for a decent adventure, then the months of November and February to April are idle for you.
